We have now been back in Michigan for almost a week now. It has been a great week of getting together with many friends and spending time with family. It has been particularly great being back in our home and spending time with Lisa and Ryan. We miss Kristi, in Boston, but to be back with your kids is incredible.
Throughout this past week we have kept busy with various errands and gatherings with friends and it has been wonderful to see them all. We have been able to spend time with my (Dave’s) siblings and last evening we had a great dinner with Sharon’s siblings. This evening we will gather with the Ellens’ extended family to celebrate my Mom’s 80th birthday. Her birth date is tomorrow and as her kids we look forward to spending time with her and going to Grand Haven for dinner. It will be fun!
We will be out at Muskegon Yacht Club on Sunday for the annual Commodore’s Reception and look forward to a restful day on Memorial Day before we head back to the boat.
The weather here in Michigan has been an interesting break for us. It is certainly a lot cooler than we have been used to, but it has been refreshing. In Beaufort, where our boat is, the temps have been in the mid-90’s and the heat wave is expected to continue once we get back there. Hopefully the mold is kept to a minimum inside the boat with it being all closed up these past two weeks!
I put a short video together of the Lady’s Island Marina, and if you haven’t seen it yet be sure to check it out by clicking http://svadventuresawait.com/beaufort-sc-video-ladys-island-marina/ or going to our YouTube site at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=svadventuresawait.
We will be leaving Michigan Tuesday afternoon and taking two days to drive back to the boat. We hope to head north up the ICW a few days after arriving back there.
