June 2016

June was a month of working on the boat completing projects.  The slips at MYC had been damaged over the winter so we backed into the slip until the attenuator was repaired.  Here is a picture of the boat with the outer barges still in place.

With the back of the boat toward the club, Max would wait and greet any who walked by, wistfully waiting until we could go sailing.

But we did get out a couple of times.  On Father’s Day, June 19, we passed the Wiltjers out on Lake Michigan.  We then came in for supper while anchored off the State Park in Muskegon Lake.

On Saturday, June 25, the three of us sailed out to Lake Michigan with a 10 knot breeze and had a beautiful sail!  Late afternoon, as we already were a ways south, headed to Grand Haven to see if we could get a spot on the Wall to get some ice cream.  The Wall was full so we headed back to Muskegon.  We anchored a couple miles north of Grand Haven to dinghy Max to shore for a potty break, and then had supper while still at anchor.  What a great day!
