We’re back in Michigan! It was a long trip but we made it with no difficulties and saw some beautiful scenery along the way, including many beautiful mountains in West Virginia.
The week before we left for Michigan we finished up a lot of our projects on the boat. The week prior, as I shared in last week’s post, we got a lot of the major engine and maintenance stuff done on the boat. The past few days we were able to knock off some of the projects that had been out there but we just never really got to, like spraying the bimini top with 303 rain sealant, deep cleaning and coating the dodger eisenglass, and even getting six coats of Poli Glow on the entire side hulls of the boat. Nice!
Sharon also did a huge non-perishable items provisioning run and repaired the middle panel of our dodger, in addition to finishing major cleaning inside the boat.
When we return to the boat we are in good shape to be able to take off and head north.
On our way back to Michigan we did some reflecting on the past eleven months since leaving last June. It is incredible to think of all that has happened and what we have done and seen. We even chuckled at how many bathrooms, both marina and public, that we have spent time in in the past eleven months.
We are truly blessed to be able to have this adventure and we look forward to seeing what this upcoming year will hold. It will be good now to have some time with family and friends and to be away from the boat for a couple of weeks, but we know that once it’s time to return we will be ready to begin our second year of cruising.
